Private sector employment on the increase
February 2012 ADP National Employment Report®, employment in the U.S. private business sector increased by 216,000 jobs in February, and this increase marks the twenty-fifth consecutive monthly gain in private employment as measured by the ADP report. Of the 216,000 jobs added from January 2012 to February 2012, the February 2012 ADP Report found employment in the private service-providing sector rose by 170,000 jobs while employment in the private goods-producing sector increased by 46,000 jobs. Other highlights from the report include statistics on job gains in small, medium, and large businesses:
- Small businesses representing payrolls with 1 to 49 employees added 108,000 jobs from January 2012 to February 2012.
- Medium businesses representing payrolls with 50 to 499 employees added 88,000 jobs from January 2012 to February 2012.
- Large businesses representing payrolls with more than 499 employees added 20,000 jobs from January 2012 to February 2012.
