NFL calls for tougher drug testing
Despite the future of the NFL being up in the air right now, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has turned his focus to calling for tougher drug testing regulations for the National Football League, despite the NFL drug testing program already being a strong one. Goodell stated that while already tough, the NFL drug testing program can be improved, and said the league will insist that its next labor deal with players – whenever there is one – includes testing for human growth hormone. “We’d be naive to think that people aren’t trying to cheat the system. But we have to have the best testing program to be able to offset that,” Goodell told reporters. “We need to do more, including the inclusion of HGH testing.” So when, or rather if, the NFL gets up and running again for the new season, one thing we can be sure of is an even tougher stance on doping.
