MYBINC sponsors Humane Society charity event

The Blue Ridge Humane Society is a nonprofit animal welfare organization – a group that does their best to ensure dogs in need are re-homed. Last week was the society’s annual Luncheon and Fashion Show and, with the help of the agency, many dogs will be going home with a new owner in the coming weeks.

Karen Caruso, owner of Mind Your Business Inc., a background investigation and information business, was a sponsor for the event. She was inspired to give back after her dog Casey died recently. “Losing my dog opened my eyes to other animals who are in need,” Caruso said, and added that families affected by the economy may need help to support their animals. Fashions were provided by the Sanctuary with jewelry provided by Gillian’s Gallery and seven dogs debuted on the runway this year, with three of the seven dogs already adopted.
To celebrate the society’s 60th anniversary, Shelley’s Jewelry of Hendersonville has donated a diamond valued at $3,000. Everyone attending was given a pouch containing a cubic zirconia or the diamond, and were asked to take the diamonds to the jewelry store to find out who won. Such an event is another way for MYBINC to give back to the community, emphasizing that our origins are not based in financial gain or selfish ambitions, but altruism.
