Massachusetts employment company helps bring teens and service together
ourly.help matches up local teenagers with odd jobs around their community, and pays them $10 per hour to complete jobs for their neighbors, such as shoveling snow, gardening, housework, and other tasks. The service charges those that request help $15 per hour in order to fund the employment service, which also donates $1 to the Wounded Warrior Project — a service for veterans who have been wounded in combat — for every hour of work completed. In addition, all “employers” undergo background checks so that the teenage “employees” and their parents can be assured of safety. Parents have to provide permission for their children to do any type of work, and can specify what types of jobs they want their kids to be doing. In addition, the website has guidelines about what jobs teenager can be solicited to do, and prohibits any activity that is hot, high, live or sharp. As of November 2015, the unemployment rate for teenagers was 15.7 percent, according to a release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This employment service is geared not toward teens who are looking for full-time or even part-time employment, but rather for kids who just want to work a few hours here and there as their schedules permit.]]>
