DISA to build new, advanced background screening system
The system will be used by the National Background Investigations Bureau (NBIB), which replaced the Federal Investigative Services on Oct. 1, 2016. NBIB has now secured $50 million from the White House’s 2018 budget (which also committed $15 million to E-Verify) to continue to build the new background screening system. The establishment of a National Background Investigations Bureau (NBIB) was announced in 2016, as part of a series of changes by the Obama Administration to modernize and strengthen the way the government conducts background investigations for Federal employees and contractors and protect sensitive data.]]>
