Change in drug testing guidelines
Drug Testing Programs. These changes concern federally regulated testing for HHS and the Department of Transportation and are effective October 1, 2010. The new guidelines alter the panel used for federally regulated tests to include: the addition of drug analytes
o methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), commonly known as “ecstasy”
o methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA)
o methylenedioxyethylamphetamine (MDEA) lowering of the initial test cutoff levels for
o cocaine metabolites from 300 ng/mL to 150 ng/mL
o amphetamines from 1000 ng/mL to 500 ng/mL lowering of the confirmatory cutoff levels for
o benzoylecgonine from 150 ng/mL to 100 ng/mL
o amphetamine/methamphetamine from 500 ng/mL to 250 ng/mL the addition of 6-acetylmorphine (6AM) to further determine the presence of heroin
