Our CEO/Founder Karen Caruso started Mind Your Business from her own basement. Her intent initially was to start a childcare background screening business for families looking to hire safe and reliable childcare. Finding it near impossible to find a company that offered such employee screening services to private individuals, she started her own. MYB now stands as a testament to what a big vision, diligent, careful processes, and the passionate pursuit of reliable pre-screening can accomplish.

About Karen Caruso
MYB’s Founder/CEO Karen Caruso has built a professional career centered around empowering employers to make informed hiring decisions. Karen’s background in the security, surveillance, and loss prevention led her to become a licensed private investigator. In 1996, her passion for helping others and her professional background merged as she sparked the idea to create MYB. Today, MYB is a leading provider of pre-employment background screening services, drug testing, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) services. EEO services consists of investigations, counseling, writing Final Agency Decisions (FAD) mediation, training, management inquiries, and climate assessments.
MYB provides support to thousands of clients across the nation including Fortune 500 corporations, nationally recognized non-profits, and the federal government. The company stands as a testament to what a big vision, diligence, and careful processes can accomplish. Through Karen’s dedication, she was honored to be named North Carolina’s Small Businessperson of the Year in 2011, along with many other accolades to honor her success and commitment to enhancing the surrounding community. Today, Karen's vision has expanded to inspiring and mentoring other woman-owned and minority business owners. She is a proud member of the Women’s Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and the Greater Women's Business Council (GWBC).
